Cod Fish Pastel

Pasteis de Bacalhau are a symbol of the Portuguese traditional gastronomy.

Served as an appetizer or at Portuguese homes with rice and salad as a meal, they are also popular in all Portuguese parties that includes a buffet.

They are prepared by combining bacalhau (codfish) with mashed potato, onion, eggs, parsley and after deep fried.
